I hate my lawn mower!

  • Jul. 16th, 2008 at 6:35 PM
fun sized
There's always something wrong with it.  Finally I got the pin in place so it doesn't drag the ground.  I planned to mow the yard today.  Guess what?  It won't start.  I just put  a new battery in it last year so that shouldn't be the problem.  Tim is at work with my car because his is in the shop so I can't do anything about it today.  Hopefully my neighbors won't complain.

Is it a push mower? Or a riding mower? One way to get small engines to start is to take out the spark plug and use a straw to put just a little fresh gas inside the area where the spark plug goes. Then put the spark plug back in and crank the engine and it should start. Also, make sure the choke is set correctly for a cold start.

It's a riding mower. We checked the battery and changed the spark plug. It now tries to turn over, but still doesn't start. I'll have to try your suggestion.

My new husband finally got it working again. Another reason he's good to have around.
