I just finished my first day back at work after Christmas break. I always have a hard time waking up early after vacation.

I need to update about Christmas.  Tim and I went to Granny's (my mom's mom) house on Christmas day as planned.  My mama had told me the day before that Daddy was planning to come too.  Tim and I pretty much tried to avoid my dad.  There were a lot of people scattered through 3 rooms so it wasn't hard to avoid him most of the time.  After everyone is finished eating, my dad comes and finds me and Tim.  He says hello, introduces himself to Tim, and tells us to come over to his house to get our Christmas presents.  We were shocked!  I'm not sure I said anything other than ok.  So we go to my parent's house and exchange gifts (across the driveway from Granny's).  It was somewhat awkward mostly me and Mama talking to each other.  My dad did get Tim a chair to sit in.  We didn't stay long, didn't want to overstay our welcome.  So it turns out I got the best Christmas present I could have hoped for, an answered prayer for sure!  I don't know what will happen next but it was a big first step for things working out. 

New Year's was uneventful.  My cousin Amy had a party at her boss' house.  They're gone on a cruise to Antartica (weird).  Anyway we just watched movies on their projection screen and actually didn't even realize when it was midnight.  One nice moment:  when we realized it was after midnight, Tim said this is the year we'll get married :)
